Printing from iPhoto, for example although most picture handling software has similar options, you select Print.. from the File menu and then 8 X 10 from the size options. Hitting the Print button will finish the job.
Printing out photos from your computer is like printing out most other things, except you need inkjet photo paper (which you can get at www.continentalphoto.com) and you'll have to feed the paper manually. You mainly want to take a look at the megapixels. When you are printing only 4x6 inch photos you can use just about any standard camera. When you are wanting to print out larger photos, like 8x10 and bigger, you will want the better cameras with the better resolutions and higher megapixels.
