You use the rudder of the aircraft. The differential pressure of the air flowing around it causes the aircraft to turn in its horizontal plane. The same principle is used for turning a boat. In that case, the differential pressure applied by water is used.

An aircraft (fixed wing type or helicopter) can rotate on any 1of it's 3 axis When it rotates on it's vertical axis the movement is called 'yaw'. In a helicopter this is made to happen by giving the rear rotor blade less or more power which causes the body of the Helicopter to turn to the left or right. (yaw) Rotation of any aircraft on it's 'left to right' horizontal axis is called elevation. Rotation of it on it's fore and aft horizontal axis is called 'roll'. The controls can be used to make more than 1of these movements at the same time if the pilot wishes to do so.

What controls inside the aircraft will the pilot use to control the yawing motion of the aircraft?

the yaw of an aircraft is controlled by the rudder pedals.

What is a yaw?

A yaw is the rotation of an aircraft about its vertical axis which causes the aircraft to deviate from its preferred horizontal flight line.

What are the two parts of an airplane that controls the yaw?

Typically the rudder is the only part of the aircraft that controls the yaw. Wind can act as a variable and affect the yaw but it is not a pilot induced or controlled movement

What is yawing with a glider?

'Yaw' is a side to side movement of the nose of the aircraft.

How does a aeroplane move?

Elevators control the pitch (up and down) of the aircraft. Ailerons control the roll of the aircraft. And rudders control the yaw of the aircraft.

What is yaw streeing?

Specifies the side-to-side movement of an aircraft on its vertical axis.

What is a yawmeter?

A yawmeter is an instrument which measures the yaw of an aircraft, its degree of rotation about its vertical axis.

What is the correct name for an airplane steering wheel?

It is called a "Yoke", the rudder is on the tail of the aircraft and is generally operated by foot pedals to controll the Yaw of the aircraft

Why do you need pedals for flaying an aircraft?

Unlike cars, the pedals in the aircraft don't control thrust, the throttles do. They are rudder pedals, which control yaw, a way to move the aircraft from left to right.

What is adverse yaw?

Adverse yaw is a secondary effect of the ailerons. When the ailerons are actuated, one of its effects is an asymmetrical change in drag. In essence, when the ailerons are being used, drag is increased on both wings to a certain extent, but this drag is stronger on one side than the other. The result is that when rolling an aircraft for a turn, the aircraft will have a tendency to want to yaw in the opposite direction of the roll.

Are there any space words starting with y?

Yaw-Moving ship or aircraft around a vertical axis.

What is the side to side movement of the nose of an airplane called?

yaw rotation is a movement around the yaw axis of a rigid body that changes the direction it is pointing, to the left or right of its direction of motion.
