This the programming procedure for a 2000 Corolla and Chevrolet Prizm(same car different name)
Transmitter Programming Reprogramming the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver
The vehicle comes equipped with two transmitters. The receiver can be programmed to accept up to four transmitters. Additional transmitters are available. If the number of transmitters programmed exceeds four, the previously programmed transmitters will be erased in order, starting with the first transmitter. To program a transmitter, there are 3 modes within the remote control door lock receiver. Add mode: This mode is used for adding new or additional transmitters, Rewrite mode: This mode is used to erase all of the previously programmed transmitters and should be used when installing a new receiver, Confirmation mode: This mode is for confirming how many existing transmitters are registered before adding any transmitters. To begin programming, follow the procedure. Set the following conditions: Ignition off and ignition key out of cylinder. All doors closed except drivers door. All doors unlocked. Insert the ignition key into the key cylinder momentarily and remove it. Using the switch in the drivers door, move the switch to LOCK-UNLOCK 5 times at approximately 1 second intervals within 40 seconds. Close the drivers door, then open it. Again, move the switch to LOCK-UNLOCK 5 times at approximately 1 second intervals within 40 seconds. Insert the ignition key into the key cylinder. Turn the ignition switch from ON-LOCK at approximately 1 second intervals for 1-3 times according to the desired mode. 1 time for add mode 2 times for rewrite mode 3 times for confirmation mode Remove the ignition key from the key cylinder. If the add or rewrite mode has been selected, the doors will lock-unlock once or twice at 1 second intervals, once for add mode or twice for rewrite mode. If the confirmation mode is selected, the doors will lock-unlock 0-4 times at 2 second intervals to inform the technician of the number of transmitters programmed. Press a transmitter button for 2 seconds, The doors will lock-unlock once at a 1 second interval to inform the technician that the signal has been received from the transmitter. Close the drivers door, then open it. Press a transmitter button for 2 seconds, The doors will lock-unlock once at a 1 second interval to inform the technician that the signal has been received from the transmitter. If the doors lock-unlock once, the transmitter programming has been completed. Go to step 9 to continue programming for additional transmitters. If the doors lock-unlock twice, the transmitter programming is not complete. Go to step 9 to begin the transmitter programming again. If any of the following conditions occur during programming, the remote control door lock receiver will return to normal operation: The drivers door remains closed. 20 seconds elapses with no input to the RKE module The ignition key is inserted into the key cylinder.
Here is a way for programming a remote for a 2000 Avalon. This method should work for 2001 Avalon also.
Key out Driver door open and unlocked Insert key into ignition and pull out Lock then unlock the power locks from the master switch 5 times Close and then open the driver's door Lock then unlock the power locks from the master switch 5 times Insert the key into the ignition and turn to ON then OFF, then remove key Locks should cycle - If they don't repeat Press both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second Immediately after letting go of the two buttons, press the LOCK button for 2 seconds The locks should then cycle once. If they cycle twice, try again. Close the driver door
excerpted from http://www.Toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=7501&highlight=remote+program Posted by NoliWan: 1. Start with the following conditions: you are in the vehicle
a. Key is out of the ignition
b. Drive door is open ( all other doors are closed)
c. Driver door is unlocked (other door locks don't matter)
2. Insert the key into the ignition (don't turn it) and pull it out.
3. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Cycle the power locks 5 times. Use an even pace and try
to go relatively fast.
b. Close, then open the drivers door.
4. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Cycle the power locks 5 times (same as before).
b. Turn the ignition to ON then back to OFF.
c. Turn the ignition to ON then back to OFF.
d. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Within 3 seconds, the power door locks should cycle (automatically)
indicating successful entry into programming mode. Return to step 1
if the locks do not cycle at this point.
6. Perform these steps within 40 seconds:
a. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter
simultaneously for 1 second.
b. Immediately after letting go of the lock and unlock buttons,
press the lock button by itself and hold for 2 seconds.
Within 3 seconds, the door locks should cycle ( LOCK then
UNLOCK) once-- indicating successful programming. If
the door locks don't cycle, or cycle twice. Repeat steps
6a and 6b--this remote has not been accepted.
c. Repeat steps 6a and 6b for EACH transmitter that will
operate the vehicle. Including any old transmitters.
7. Close the driver door.
if you have only changed the batteries in your remote then you press the unlock button 6 times until you hear a beep and then it is programmed. these details are in the owners handbook.
turn your key forward, unerneath the steering column there is a plug that isn't plugged into anything there will be 2 prongs in it take a paper clip and touch both prongs and your locks will cycle then you hit lock or unlock on the remote and each additional remote then turn your key off and your locks will cycle again to end the programming mode.and your remotes are programmed.it sounds stupid but that is how the Ford dealership showed me so i know its correct
RKE Programming Procedure: # Using a functional key fob transmitter, unlock the vehicle and disarm the Vehicle Theft Security System. # Insert ignition key into the ignition switch. # Turn the ignition switch to RUN position with- out starting engine. # Using a functional key fob transmitter, press and hold the UNLOCK button for a minimum 4 seconds (maximum 10 seconds). # While holding UNLOCK button, and before 10 seconds passes, press and release the PANIC button. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module is set to receive the new Vehicle Access Code(s). # Within 30 seconds of the chime, press any button on each new key fob transmitter. After 30 seconds or when ignition switch is turned OFF , the RKE module will end the programming mode. A single chime will sound to verify that the RKE module will no longer receive additional Vehicle Access Code(s). # When Vehicle Access Code(s) programming is complete, turn Ignition Switch to the OFF position and verify RKE system operation using each key fob. NOTE: Only the primary (first two) key fob transmitters will operate the memory seat and mirror systems. If a primary key fob is being replaced, the memory seat and mirror module will require programming.
You must take it to the dealer to have them program it to your vehicle.
Dealer only
No, the XJ Cherokee does not have the same heater box as a WJ Grand Cherokee.
The grand Cherokee is a body style, sport is a trim package that is used on all jeep models(wrangler, Cherokee, grand Cherokee, patriot, ...)
Cherokee Laredo, no. Grand Cherokee Laredo, yes.
The 2007 Jeep Grand-Cherokee has a V6 engine.
it has to be done by the dealer. =(
You have to program it with a DRB (Scan tool).
I had the same problem. Google "keyless entry remote 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee".
