• Open the driver-side door, and keep the other doors closed. Place the key in the Corolla's ignition but do not turn it. As soon as it is inserted, remove the key. Repeat this insertion and removal again, within five seconds of the first insertion. End with the key removed from the ignition.

• Close the driver-side door, then immediately open it. Close and open it again. After the door closes the second time, place the key back into the ignition without turning it. Remove it again. These movements must be made within 40 seconds of each other.

• Close and open the driver-side door twice more. Once it is opened the second time, place the key into the ignition. Close the door. Rotate the key to the "On" position without starting the Corolla, then rotate it back to "Off." Pull the key from the ignition. This set of movements must be completed within 40 seconds. The doors will lock then quickly unlock to indicate that the code sequence has been accepted.

• Hold down both the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the remote key fob for 1.5 seconds. Release the buttons and quickly hold down the "Lock" button by itself for two seconds. The vehicle door locks will cycle again, indicating that the key fob has been programmed to match the Corolla.
