Does this mean that you have disconnected the battery and now the radio won't work? And, you don't know the radio's code? If so, the dealership can hook you up, but it will probably cost you about $50. Check Ebay. There are guys who will sell you the procedure for about $10. I've read that this usually works fine. I did it for instructions to reprogram my key fob. Worked perfectly. FriPilot
The radio on your 2000 Sunfire is probably reading "loc". If this is the problem, you need to go to a Pontiac dealer and pay them to unlock the radio. This is an anti theft device to insure your radio can not function if it is removed. The cost is from 10 to 20$
It doesn't have one unless you put one in yourself
i have a 2001 pontiac sunfire antitheft problem will not start anttheft light flashs on dash i can turn motor over buy jump starter but will not start
Some have "fake theft" lights. If the light is blinking red near the radio then it is a fake.

how do i disable my anti theft on my 99 sunfire
the new key has to be coded by the dealer costs 20$
If you mean the radio reset code, you need to contact the dealer if you don't have it. There is no way around it unless you have someone with a connection to a dealership. No one can just give you this unless you have the two series of codes that are specific to the radio, which are retrieved by pressing certain radio buttons in sequence (sometimes it tells you how to do this in the manual).
I have a 1999 Sunfire and I have problems with the theft system too. Sometimes, I am able to pull the fuses and put them back and it'll start. Other times, I have to just sit and wait (for about 8 minutes) and then it'll start.
To disable the theft system on a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire, you can try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and then reconnecting it. If that doesn't work, you may need to use the key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position for about 10 minutes until the security light turns off. If issues persist, consider consulting the owner's manual or a professional mechanic for further assistance.
I have the same problem with my 2004 Sunfire. Leave the ignition on for 10 minutes. Just let it sit for 10 minutes. No shorter than that time. And Should start.
