Work hard and try to be the best you can at whatever you are doing. I assume you might be asking this question in reference to a job promotion?? Just let your employer/coworkers see how diligent you are. The fruit of your labors may or may not come back to you. All you can do is be the best you can be and leave the rest up to them.
