Acts 20:7 states that the first day of the week is when the Apostles gathered to break bread (have communion) and preach.

1 Corinthians 16:1-2 says that a collection of church members should be taken on the first day of the week.

The biggest argument is that with the death of Jesus, the Law of Moses was fulfilled (Matthew 5:17) and therefore no longer practiced. As Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week (Mark 16, John 20, Matthew 28, Luke 24) and met with the Apostles and Church members on the first day of the week, the tradition continued after the ascension.

There is no bible verse or "proof" that the Messiah changed the Sabbath, the Seventh day to Sunday, the First day. In fact the Messiah claimed that not one jot will be changed from his Father's Law, (Ten Commandments).Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

What is the true position of Sunday is it the first day of the week or the seventh day which day is the Sabbath day?

Sunday is the first day of the week, and Saturday is the seventh day of the week, which is the Sabbath. Because Jesus rose from death on the first day of the week, Sunday became known as "The Lord's Day." That has led many to mistakenly think of Sunday as the Sabbath. European calendars show Monday on the left as the first day of the week and Sunday on the right as the seventh day.

Why do christians celerbrate Easter?

Because Christians believe that on the Sunday after he was executed by crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Among other things, this great miracle is believed to prove the divinity of Jesus Christ, since he has power over the grave. Easter Sunday is the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ.

Why Sunday is the religious holiday per Christianity religion and not Saturday as in Judaism?

Saturday is the Sabbath (the "Seventh Day"). That does not change in Christianity. It is not correct to say that Sunday is the Christian Sabbath; there is no such thing. But in the very early Christian church, three substitutions were made: the Eucharist replaced celebration of the Passover; Baptism replaced Circumcision; and Sunday, known as "the Lord's Day", was substituted for the Sabbath as the day of worship and celebration, in remembrance that it was on Sunday that Jesus' resurrection occurred. Christians are an Easter people, and every Sunday is a remembrance of that event.Additional Comments:Shortly after the first Pentecost and start of the Church in 31 A.D., the Council of Jerusalem settled the need for circumcision for the Gentiles. In the early-mid 4th Century, Easter replaced Passover in the mainstream Church and Sunday - the day of the Sun was announced as the day to rest and worship on so to differentiate all from the Jewish tradition begun in Genesis for all mankind. One can prove to themselves that Jesus arose on a Saturday, having been entombed on the start of Wednesday (Jewish days began at sunset to sunset unlike our traditional midnight to midnight practice today) and remained 3 full days and 3 full nights as the only sign given of His Messiahship. Indeed, Pentecost means 50 and Jesus arose on a Saturday as Lord of the Sabbath - 50 days is 7 weeks of 7 days = 49 days plus 1 day = 50 which was Pentecost Sunday. However, to keep with their incorrect teachings, some Churches today teach Pentecost is 53 days from the Resurrection.

Is the Sabbath binding on Christians today?

Yes the Sabbath is still binding for Christians, but not in the same sense as the Jewish tradition. Whereas in Judaism the sabbath is celebrated on a saturday, most Christians celebrate Sunday as the day of the Sabbath. This is because Jesus Christ is beleived to have rose from the dead on Sunday, after 3 days in the tomb. Also, the early apostles and christians considered Sunday as the day of the Sabbath.AnswerNo. The original recognition of a 'Sabbath' was part of the Law Covenant that God had with the Nation of Israel: Exodus 31:16,17-" And the sons of Israel must keep the sabbath, so as to carry out the sabbath during their generations. It is a covenant to time indefinite. Between me and the sons of Israel it is a sign to time indefinite, because in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth and on the seventh day he rested and proceeded to refresh himself."The 'Nation of Israel' is no more, because the Temple in Jerusalem and all of it's records were destroyed in 70 C.E. (A.D.). Consequently, no one can prove their true ancestry or who would be in the priesthood, to carry out sacrifices required by the Law Covenant. Therefore, the whole system of Sabbaths, be they days or years, was brought to its end with the rest of the Law by the sacrifice of Christ Jesus.Romans 10:4-"For Christ is the end of the Law, so that everyone exercising faith may have righteousness".Romans 7:6-"But now we have been discharged from the Law, because we have died to that by which we were being held fast, that we might be slaves in a new sense by the spirit, and not in the old sense by the written code".ExcerptsChristianity and the SabbathIn this analysis of the Fourth Commandment, we make no distinction between the Sabbath of the Hebrews and the "Lord's Day" of the Christians. Both days have the same significance as far as this study is concerned, and the fear attaching to the observance of the one is identical with the restriction placed upon the other. The essence and principle of the Jewish and the Christian Sabbath are identical, says Dean Farrar. [*142]Although Christians called it the "Lord's Day" instead of the Sabbath, the word "Sabbath" is still applied to Sunday, despite the fact that there is no Biblical authority whatever for the observance of the first day of the week.for full text, see link, "Christianity and the Sabbath"As for the first answer, Christians today don ot observe Sunday as the Sabbath because they do not keep it holy, as the comamndment requires. They simply go to church on that day.Answer (Jewish):The Laws pertaining to the Sabbath were given only the Jewish people. Only the Seven Laws given to Noah after flood applies to all humanity.

When Jesus was crucified on Friday and rose on Sunday how do you come up with Jesus being dead three days?

This story is a fable... a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the fact that Jesus was murdered on "our Wednesday"... the day when the Passover fell that year in history. The "preparation" the Bible speaks of in the account is NOT for the "weekly Sabbath" on "our Friday night"... but for the "Feast Day," the first day of Unleavened Bread, which falls on the day after that Passover - on "our Thursday" that week. This is one of God's "annual sabbaths" called "high day" sabbaths:"...the Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodied should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day WAS AN HIGH DAY,) besought Pilate..." (John 19:31).The weekly seventh-day Sabbath is NOT a "high day" sabbath... and the "preparation" mentioned in the passage was NOT on "our Friday." It was "our Wednesday night."Jesus was buried hastily before sundown on "our Wednesday evening" because at sundown the "preparation" for the "high day" feast ["our Thursday"] began. That means Jesus had to be raised from the dead JUST BEFORE SUN-DOWN, THREE DAYS and THREE NIGHTS, LATER... the same time of day that He was buried... not at SUN-RISE!So, Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night was THREE NIGHTS.And Thursday day, Friday day and Saturday day was THREE DAYS.That's "three days and three nights"... just as Jesus promised... which was the only sign He gave [the sign of Jonah] that would PROVE His Messiahship. [Matt.12:39-40]"...Christ died for our sins ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; and that He was buried, and ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES..." (I Cor.15:3-4).Which means that Jesus was raised from the dead on "our SATURDAY EVENING [on the weekly Sabbath] - JUST BEFORE SUNDOWN... not on "our Sunday morning."Good Friday and Easter are fables that God has not commanded man to observe in His Word, the Bible... and it's just another meaningless and false religious vanity observed by men in the world.Christ is our "Passover"... not our "Easter." [I Corinthians 5:7].

Does Phillipians chapter 4 prove Jesus is God?

Nothing written by a mere man could prove Jesus is God, but it could be capable of proving that the author believedthat Jesus is God. Phillipians chapter 4 contains nothing to indicate whether or not Paul believed Jesus to be God.

Prove jesus is the son of god historically?

It cannot be done.In order to prove that Jesus was the son of God "historically", one must first incontrovertibly prove that God exists. This falls outside of the scope of science (and therefore true history). We then must prove that God impregnated Mary (which would require that God himself testify, since there's no way of performing any sort of genetic test on Mary or Jesus). We then must prove that Jesus was indeed the son of Mary, which too would require genetic testing. So far, we can't even conclusively prove that Jesus existed (though it is possible) in a historical context since it has been shown that the only 3rd party verification of Jesus' existence (the records of Roman historian Josephus) were later proved to be doctored.AnswerRead the Bible. The whole great book testifies that Jesus is the son of God and is God. Science helps prove that God does exist.
