If you have an 89-96 Katana, you can usually reach up under the main body fairing, behind the headlight. There is a rubber boot on the back of the headlight reflector (the glass headlight casing). If you pry off the rubber boot, the bulb will come with it. You should be able to swap the bulb with a good one and wiggle the boot back in place. If you have large hands or this seems too hard to do in a cramped space, you will want to remove your fairings.
Behind the headlight, on the farthest outer side, there is a connecting plug & a black rubber boot. Pull the boot away from headlamp, rotate the piece that the connector is attached to and out comes the bulb. Hope this helps!
There is a switch covered with rubber on the door post. depress the switch boot, if a resistance is not felt the switch fell away and is behind the panel. sometimes when the seatbelt is about this area when the door is closed the seatbelt will push the switch away. use a 8 or 9mm socket to remove the rubber boot. remove the panel and attach the switch to the boot. replace the panel and secure the rubber boot. make sure there is resistance when pushing in the switch.
You are wondering how to change a, I mean remove a rubber boot on a Subaru Impreza Headlight. Well You came to the right person or Internet I shall say. It would be Under the Headlight Housing Near the Inset of the Headlight And you would just snap it out by putting your finger near the edge of it and snap it out of place. Then you would see you can disconnect the whole headlight with the bulb and it would be easier. Thank you, Misa Pang.
I just replaced one of my headlight bulbs - I presume that's what you're asking about and not the entire headlight assembly. Open your hood and at the back of the headlight there is a large rubber boot cover with a tab on it with wires coming out the back. Pull the tab and gently pry the rubber boot off. You will see a wire retainer which holds the bulb in place - pinch it and it should release. Remove the bulb. Without touching the glass on the new bulb, install it in the hole. There are tabs on the edge of the bulb that keep it aligned correctly. Install the wire retainer, then push on the wire harness/rubber boot. You're done!
Open the hood of your car. On the back of the headlight assembly, unplug the headlight wire from the bulb and remove the rubber boot. There is a metal clip that holds the lightbulb in place. It needs to be pressed in and up to remove the bulb.
on the driver side just behind the headlight theres a black box wich has four screws on the corners pull off the top an theres the filter youll have to take that rubber boot that's on the top off as well
Gain access to the rear of the headlight housing. Remove the weatherproof rubber protective boot and remove the headlight bulb socket. Replace bulb and re-install in reverse order.
On the back of the light when u lift the hood you'll see a rubber boot on the back, reach inside the boot and release the metal latch holding the bulb in place. Good Luck
The boot is the rubber cover The boot is the accorion-folded rubber shroud that fits over the ball joint,
Bulb replacementTo replace the headlight bulb you have to disconnect the connector that plugs into the bulb, then you have to undo the metal clip with a screw driver and after you pull the clip down the bott will come off, then you pull the headlight out .
Changing headlight on Honda GoldwingI answered this once before and it didn't get posted...... I have a '91 Aspencade 1500...... First you peel back the rubber boots by the rear view mirrors. The top 2 pieces above the headlight are each held in place by 1 screw each side under the rubber boots. (There is also a clip in the bottom middle of the chrome piece that requires a lift and pull) 2 Phillips screws will remove the small grill just under the headlight assy. Remove the headlight assy (4- 10mm bolts... 2 on top and 2 on bottom) and unplug the multi connector. Lay the assy face down.. remove the rubber boot behind the headlight bulb and the plug. There is a clip that holds the bulb in. Don't touch the bulb glass. posted by zippob@msn.com
