You are wondering how to change a, I mean remove a rubber boot on a Subaru Impreza Headlight. Well You came to the right person or internet I shall say. It would be Under the Headlight Housing Near the Inset of the Headlight And you would just snap it out by putting your finger near the edge of it and snap it out of place. Then you would see you can disconnect the whole headlight with the bulb and it would be easier.
Thank you, Misa Pang.
First, open the hood of the vehicle. Next, remove the cover of the bulb. Finally, release the clip that holds the bulb in place. Be sure to wear rubber gloves when handling the new bulb, as oil on your hands will reduce the life of the bulb.

On a 1993 Subaru Impreza, the PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) valve is typically located on the driver's side of the engine, near the intake manifold. It is usually connected to a rubber hose that leads from the valve cover to the intake system. To access it, you may need to remove other components or hoses for better visibility. Always refer to the vehicle’s service manual for specific details.
Open the hood of your car. On the back of the headlight assembly, unplug the headlight wire from the bulb and remove the rubber boot. There is a metal clip that holds the lightbulb in place. It needs to be pressed in and up to remove the bulb.
open hood, remove the little plastic/rubber cover above each headlight, one will be right on top the other is just below behind the headlight.
Pull the plug out, remove the rubber cover, pinch the 2 metal pieces and twist the bull slightly to one of the sides you will be able to feel it go and pull it out. then do it in reverse to get the new light in. DONT TOUCH THE GLASS!

Gain access to the rear of the headlight housing. Remove the weatherproof rubber protective boot and remove the headlight bulb socket. Replace bulb and re-install in reverse order.
they clip in! the rubber boot behind the bulb incases a clip that you can use your fingers to compress and pull rearward. pulling the old bulb is the easy part, installing the new one is more difficult, because you must line it up correctly or the clip will not seat in its corect spot. Also wear rubber gloves with the new bulb, or just do not to touch the glass part of the new bulb.
first remove the plastic nut on the back of the headlight assembly. it is about 3inches in diameter. then remove the rubber water gasket. then, turn the bulb half a turn. remove the spring that hold the bulb in and the bulb should come out. it is a little trickie but it worked for me. good luck
