AnswerActually you shouldn't put a blanket on a horse because it stops the horse's winter coat from growing properly. Only put a blanket on a horse if it's extremely cold like so cold you are cold with a jacket on. Also during the winter horses should be in the barn and rubbed down. Show horses however need their sleek summer coat in shows (it makes them look better for the judges) so they need their blanket on as soon as they start to grow their winter coat.

With real horses, blanketing depends on how hardy the horse is, if he is clipped, and how cold it is. There are also blankets which are used as protection against flies and rain when needed.

∙ 12y agoFirst you might have to spread it out to see where the front and the back is. Then once you figure that out you can lay it on the horse's back. on the front where the horses cheast is, you have to velcroe it, and then buckle it. (sometimes it doesn't have the velcroe.) Then you have to take the straps that go under the horse's stomach and bukle them so if you went under the horse you would see a X. (But DO NOT go under the horse. It's very dangerous!) Then you would go to the final part at the horse's backside. It usally has two straps that you cross under the horses legs just like you do with the stomach. That's how you put a blanket on a horse.:)
