How do you replace flint on a cigarette lighter It is an antique lighter the brand name appears to be lido?
The changing of flint is a fairly simple affair. You need a dime, the flint, and a piece of white paper. Placing the paper on a flat surface, put the lighter in an upright position. Grasp the body of the lighter in one hand and the casing in the other and pull. The lighter should come out of the case fairly easily. Turn the lighter over and locate the fibers at the bottom. Carefully pull the fiber from the wheel end and locate the screw. Use the dime to turn the screw and remove the tension spring. Shake the lighter to remove the old flint, then insert the new flint in the tube that the spring came from. Reinsert the spring, tighten the screw, replace the fiber, fill with fluid, and reinsert the lighter into the case.
I have a zippo lighter It sparks but doesn't light up so the flint is ok I fill it everyweek and also when i put a flame next to it's wick it lights up What is the problem?
There is two things what could be wrong with your lighter. One the wick in the lighter could be damp or you have bought a dull lighter.

Fix a lighter? That is pretty vague! Get fluid into it... adjust the wick, put a new flint into the mechanism, or see if the cotton is bad. If it is a butane you should buy a new one, if it is a zippo then I can help but I need more info on the prob!
My lighter won't work have put two flints in it and it won't work it just won't spark any 1?
The chances are the flint chamber is blocked with old flint ,try to remove with a pin ,if this fails you will need to dismantle the ligter to unblock it. good luck

A flint should have a thumb groove, put Your right or left thumb on that. The flint should come with a striker if not you can use any piece of steel to put on the flint and push forward and you should get a spark

If it's stiff it could be because the flint is worn down/gone and the wheel is trying to turn against the metal pusher that keeps the flint tight. You'll grind that down if you keep trying ot turn it so put a new flint in. If it's not the flint, try prying the tabs a little bit that hold the wheel and add some oil to the pin. If the wheel turns freely with the flint assembly out, then it's probably caused by the friction with the flint.

If you buy the lighter, it comes with the case (the outer part of the lighter), the lighter (the inner piece where the wick comes out of the chimney), one wick, one flint, and the filler material that you put fluid onto. You can also purchase kist that come with spare wicks, flints, and a can of Zippo brand fluid. When I bought mine they did not offer the kits, so I bought the lighter, some fluid, some wicks, and some flints and it was under $40 for the whole mess.
