When composing a mail on Gmail, right under the space where you type the Subject, there is a paperclip with "Attach a file" written next to it. Clicking on that will open up a new window where you can search for the file on your computer. Select the file and click on open. The file name will appear under the Subject field box with a bar next to it. This bar shows how much of the file has been uploaded.
The maximum file size you can upload is 25MB.
