Putting on a lace front wig can be a bit tricky if you've never done it before, but with practice, it becomes easier. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to properly put on a front lace wig:

What you'll need:

Lace front wig

Wig cap (optional, but recommended)

Adhesive (wig glue, tape, or adhesive gel)

Scissors

Wig brush or comb

Alcohol-based skin cleanser (if using adhesive)

Step-by-step process:

Prepare Your Hair:

If you have long hair, it's recommended to braid your hair or secure it flat against your scalp using pins or a wig cap. This helps create a smooth surface for the wig to sit on.

Put on a Wig Cap:

If you're using a wig cap, put it on over your hair to help keep your natural hair flat and secure. Make sure the cap is pulled down to cover your hairline.

Prepare the Wig:

Gently shake the wig to loosen the hair fibers and give it a natural appearance. If the wig has a part, adjust it to your preferred position.

Trim the Lace:

Most lace front wigs come with excess lace at the front. Use scissors to carefully trim the lace along the hairline. Leave a small amount of lace to avoid cutting too close to the hairline.

Cleanse Your Skin (if using adhesive):

If you're using adhesive, clean your forehead and hairline with an alcohol-based cleanser to remove any oils or residues that might affect the adhesion.

Apply Adhesive:

Depending on the type of adhesive you're using (glue, tape, or adhesive gel), follow the instructions on the product. Apply a thin layer of adhesive along your hairline, right above your forehead.

Position the Wig:

Hold the wig by the ear tabs and align the front of the wig with your hairline. Gently place the wig on your head, starting from the front and gradually pulling it over the rest of your head.

Secure the Wig:

Press down along the hairline to secure the lace in place. If you're using adhesive, gently press the lace onto the adhesive using your fingers or a clean, damp cloth. Be careful not to use too much pressure to avoid damaging the lace.

Style the Wig:

Once the wig is secure, use a wig brush or comb to style the hair as desired. You can part it, brush it, and style it just like you would with natural hair.

Remember, putting on a lace front wig takes practice, so don't be discouraged if it doesn't look perfect the first time. With time and patience, you'll become more skilled at applying and styling your wig. If you're new to wigs or want a professional-looking application, you might also consider getting assistance from a hairstylist or wig specialist.

# TRIM THE LACE

When you first receive your wig, you will notice there is excess lace around the perimeter. This will need to be trimmed off.

Be extremely careful, as you will need trim the lace as close to the hairline as possible without cutting any of the wig hair.

If you are in-experienced at this, just cut the lace back a little bit at a time until you are comfortable.

# WEAR WIG CAP

It's not necessary, however many people prefer to wear a 100% Nylon Wig cap.

# PREPARE YOUR SCALP

Using either 99.9% Medical Grade Alcohol, or our Scalp Protector, rub it onto your skin all the way around your hairline where the adhesive will be applied. This will clear your skin of any oils for better adhesion and also protect your skin from irritation.

# APPLY THE ADHESIVE

If you are going to use a wig glue, you will need to apply a very very thin layer onto your skin, then wait approx. 10 - 15 minutes for the glue to become "tacky". At this point you can add another thin layer of glue, you will need to wait another 10 -15 minutes for it to become sticky or "tacky"

# APPLY THE WIG

Using hair clips, clip all of the hair up on your wig to make sure it will not get stuck to the adhesive you have just applied to your skin. Put on your wig and press the hairline lace firmly onto the adhesive. At this point you should wait a few more minutes for the wig glue to set up completely before styling. You can tell when the glue is finished drying as it will not be sticky or "tacky" and your wig will be firmly in place.

# CLEANUP & STYLE YOUR HAIR

At this point you may need to clean up some excess adhesive on your skin. Using our gentle citrus solvent, or 99.9% Medical Grade alcohol and a Q-tip or cotton swab, apply the sovent to the cotton then gently rub the area you want to cleanup. Be careful not to get to close to your hairline, if you do, you may need to reapply the glue to that area, or start over.

Some have clips or combs inside; if not, you can use wig tape or a glue adhesive.

Is lace front wig better or full lace wig?

It depends on how you want to wear your hair. If you wear want to put your hair up in a high pony, then you will need a full lace. If you wear your hair down you can buy a lace front, which are cheaper. Look our for lace front wigs that have a lot of space to part your hair, sometimes the normal 2" of handtied lace just is not enough. In fact, the full lace wig will be more natural. You can part the line and put the ponytail up when wearing the full lace wig.But the weft at back of the lace front wig will be a little unnatural.Your scalp will show sometime. And you can not put the high ponytail up. The lace front wig is more easy wearing.Don't need too much glue and tapes.

Do rihanna have a lace front wig?

Yes.

Should someone considering a wig go for the lace front wigs or go for a wig that does not have the lace front?

Someone considering a lace front wig or a regular wig should consider the reality of the look they are going for. Since a lace front wig makes the persons hair look much more real than just a regular wig, by creating the illusion that the hair is actually coming out of the scalp rather than just sitting on the persons head, then the lace front wig is the better choice. The regular wigs have more of the fake hairline, while the lace front is much more appealing while also not sliding around.

Do you have to buy a wig to get a full lace?

not really , the regular wig , also called lace front wig ,half hand-tied half machine made, can work very well . It has lace at front , with machine-made stretch at back . However , it can't form into pigtail or updo . If you want these , you need a full lace wig , it can be part anywhere . It is also a little dearer than lace front wig . Hope my answer can help you .

What makes lace front wigs better than other wigs?

Full-lace wigs are not necessarily better; it all depends on your personal needs:-If you want to wear the wig in a high ponytail, full lace is better-If you want to be able to part the hair anywhere for more styling choices, full lace is better-If you want the most natural looking hairline possible, front lace is better,(but only if you do a custom order because this will give the wig your exact measurements, so it will fit perfectly. However, you can also do custom orders for lace front wigs)-If you do not wish to deal with messy glue or tape every time you wear the wig, front lace is best(if you have a full-lace and you use glue, it melts in the summer. This lets the wig slide, and your hairline can end up looking quite embarrassing. Adhesive is also sometimes difficult to hide and can ruin the lace after repeated use if you are not careful)-If you do not wish to pay anyone for help with full-lace application, if you do not have time to apply it yourself, or if you do not want to risk ruining the expensive full-lace, then front lace is best.-If you want to be able to simply put the wig on and go, front-lace is usually best (there are some front lace wigs that still require adhesive, but most do not)-If you want to be able to wear the wig without a wig-cap, front lace is best (this is only if you purchase a front-lace that has a small amount of lace)-If you do not wish to pay the higher prices for full-lace, front-lace is bestThere are both full-lace and front-lace wigs available that include baby-hairs, so either choice will look natural.I personally recommend a front-lace if this is your first lace wig. Only because full-lace wigs are much too expensive to risk ruining with rookie mistakes. Become a lace wig veteran before you purchase full lace.*If you have anymore lace wig questions, I suggest searching youtube. There are thousands of lace wig videos (including tutorials) on there. I watch them all the time because I find other people's experiences with these products very fascinating and helpful. Youtube is also a great way to compare product quality because there are lots of women on there who post video reviews of lace wigs they have purchased.
