Procedure for manual windows... ok...sit on the seat and hold the panel in your hands, support it with one foot. Re-attach the door lock linkage to the handle. Rest the top of the panel on the door while still supporting with your foot. Align the lockpin so it passes through the panel. The top of the panel has a notch that runs from one end of it to the other. This notch fits into the moulding on the door. There are two mouldings, interior and exterior. Lock the top of the panel onto the interior moulding. You will need to press hard. Once it is in place, press the panel back onto the door. Make sure all the pins on the backside of the panel are aligned with the holes so they lock in place correctly. Replace the screw behind the door handle and in the door grab. If you have manual windows, like me, this is the fun part. Replace the lock ring on the handle so the ends of the ring are not completely in place, just resting by it's tips barely in the slot that it goes in. Replace plastic washer. Install handle. You will need to push hard on the panel to get extra clearence. With a small flat screwdriver,Gently push on the top of the ring to snap the ring back in place.
It is not that hard... all you have to do is when you have the new door handle you have to take the door panel off on the inside of the car and reach through the holes and unscrew the bolts to the handle and the door handle should come off and put the new one on and put the screws back on and put the door panel back on. To remove the door panel, first remove the screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and put them in a safe place. Then gently pull back on the panel - watch for the retaining clips attached, you will need to keep them intact in order to put the panel back when you are done.
you have to unscrew the panel from the door then carefully pull the panel away from the door and make sure when putting it back in you put all the little plastic joiners in proply
Remove the door panel. Find the track, for the passage window, loosen the track and put the glass, back in track. Put the track, back in track, and tighten it down. Put your door panel back on, and your ready to go.
How do I take the back panel off
open up the door panel which is a few screws and pull the door panel off, this will involve taking the speaker out aswell. on the bottom right hand corner of the door there will be a 10mm bolt that you will have to take out and that will release the bottom side of the track. from there just reach inside the door and put the window back inside the track and bolt the track back up. then put door panel back on.
You will need to remove the inside door panel. With the door panel removed the entire window mechanism will be visible. Set the window back on the track and secure it with the retaining clips.
As you might have guessed - you have to take the inside door panel off. You don't have to remove the door to do it.
You can put a manual rollup window back on track, in your 1994 Chevy Cavalier, by removing the inside door panel. The window track is easily visible with the door panel removed.
Disconnect the battery. Remove the door panel. unbolt the door lock motor, and remove the wiring plug. Replace the motor and put the panel back on.
it is relativly easty, first u will need to remove the door panel(not forgetting button, speaker and light wires attached to panel) once panel is off approx middle of door there is nuts holding the motor on remove nuts and motor will be able to be removed. the gears for the window are screwed onto motor. w/motor removed from panel (the gears are held onto the motor by 3 screws i believe) the gears will now be able to be taken off. the gears will need to be removed from motor. once separated finangle motor out of door. replace motor and finangle new motor into door. now put gears onto new motor same way they came off. make sure to put the screws that hold the gears back in. put motor back into door panel put nuts back onto motor. apply wires etc to door panel, put door panel back on and test.
You have to unscrew the 5 screws on the side panel then take off the side panel and pull out the air intake door if it is broke get a new one if u have one put it back in the hole and put back on the side panel and you will be fine to go drive it around.
