You have to change the sentence a little, Como se llama usted? is a formal question to some one you don't know. The word Tu is the 'informal' word for the pronoun you. You would use it when speaking to a friend or someone younger than you. ( And also when praying to God). The sentence would become Como Te llamas Tu?
It is Spanish for "How" eg Como este Usted? = How are you?

The Llama got its name from the Spanish phrase "Como se llama?" which basically means "What is your name?" From here, it caught on. So, llamas are really being called "Name".
"Como se llama mi colegio" translates to "What is my school called" in English.
Tell them your older sister's name. :) They are asking "what is your older sister's name?" The word is llama, not iiama.
what is your name (how do you call yourself) In addition to the above literal translation, como se llama also has a slang or colloquial use as a milder non-specific word used in place of a word that might be considered rude. When used in this way the closest translation is "whatchamacallit." I have heard "como se llama" used in this way as a nicer way of saying "butt," for example.
If you are talking to a teacher, you are most likely going to be using the Usted form of conjugation because they are going to be older or of higher level then you. You can either say: Usted es una maestra. (To a female teacher) Usted es un maestro. (To a male teacher) If you want to use the Tu form of conjugation then you would say: Tú eres un(a) maestro/a.
I'm glad someone decided to domesticate the llama.
¿Cómo se llama mi novio? would be "What is my boyfriend's name?" The word novio can also be used as Fiance.
What do you call a friend? Or What is the name of a friend? What is the name of your friend ' in this case a female friend because the word for 'friend' ends in an 'a' amiga; a male would be 'amigo' because it ends in an 'o.'
