Both are same..AnswerQuit MS-DOS (alt+F4) to get back to windows. Then go to Start -> Shutdown -> Restart in DOS mode. The computer will restart DOS but won't start windows. When you want to start windows again, just type win. ANSWER:MS-DOS and DOS are the same program: MicroSoft Disk Operating System. If your computer is in DOS mode, type WIN to start up windows. However, if you are already in Windows, then you are actually in the DOS prompt (also called the command prompt) which is a simulated DOS environment run by Windows. In this case, just type EXIT to return to Windows. If you are trying to get your computer into DOS mode, and you have either Windows 95 or 98, go to Start --> Shutdown, and select the option that says "Restart in MS-DOS mode". If you have any version of windows after 95 or 98, then go to Start --> Run, and type in Command to get into the command prompt.

Instruction for the computer to do something
Safe Mode is a way of allowing the user to access the Control Panel, Hardware Manager, and other portions of the Windows operating system so that changes can be made when the system is unstable. If the computer continually boots into safe mode, Windows may have to be re-installed. Usually, once the computer has booted to Safe Mode successfully, it can be shut down and restarted to boot into normal Windows operation. If the computer will only boot in Safe Mode, new hardware which has just been installed may need to be reconfigured in the Hardware Manager, or completely removed and reinstalled. Be sure that the proper drivers are loaded before connecting new hardware, as Windows may attempt to use drivers from its library which are not compatible with the hardware.
XP themes are incompatible with Windows Vista. dno
The MacBook will need to access the disc from the disc drive of another computer on the same network (See links below).
Usually, if Windows is recovering from a system error, or the laptop wasn't shut town properly, a page will come on the screen after the BIOS boot (page that shows the computer manufacturer's logo, a phrase along the lines of BIOS Version so-and-so, and a progress bar) giving you different options on how to run Windows. You'll get three choices, Start Windows in Safe Mode, Start Windows in Safe Mode with Networking Support, and Start Windows Normally.
