Use an automotive computer code-scanner to read the stored code. Then you'll know why the "check engine" light is on.
The engine light flashes when the computer has detected a problem and set a code. The code can be read for free at most auto parts stores and they can tell you what may need to be replaced to fix it.
Code scanners are available at most auto parts retailers. Many times an employee can help you figure out where to connect the scanner and how to read the codes.
Autozone will use the Engine Diagnostic Code Reader to read the codes and then ERASE/RESET the engine light. { Phone other autoparts stores to see if they provide similar service).
Yes, may read service engine soon, check engine, .....
There is no OBD connection on a 1990 Nissan as that is an OBD1 vehicle not OBD2. However there is a way to read the codes. https://codes.rennacs.com/Petrol-Engine/Japanese-Korean/Nissan-Engines.php
To read a check engine code a person will need a code reader. They can also take their vehicle to an Auto Zone store and have them read the codes and explain what they mean for free.
Trouble code P0605 means:Internal control module read only memory (ROM) error
call autozone, or any of you other local part stores, they should have a device to read the the code your check engine light is caused by.. I'm pretty sure that is an obd 1 which may be harder to find a reader for.... good luck :)
why not get yourself a service manual and read the step by step instructions!?
the engine reads this because Nissan made a 21r engine, similar to the 22r, except the 21r was smaller, and the head was slightly different. it is often unheard of because it is illegal in the unites states because it doesnt reach emission control that the US requires
Get a code read out from your engine computer and it will tell you what is wrong.
