Can you be more spacific about your problem? i mean you plug the plug into your obd1 outlet and the turn the key just before it cranks over then turn on unit and click read codes. It will give you a number and then you look up the number it gives you... SIMPLE
It could be the code reader or it could be a connector somewhere between the computer and the plug. Try a different code reader for now, see what happens. 1995 was in between OBDI and OBD II. A hybrid. Most shops cannot connect either. Dealers have the equipment.
GM OBD 1
You need a scan tool or a code reader for OBD 1.
Yes you use a OBD 1 reader

OBD 1 ANSWER Some vehicle makes started switching to OBDII before 1996. In the driverside door panel it will tell you if it is OBDII compliant. Most likely not. Try doing a search on Ebay I am sure there are OBD scanners on there for you make and model
bad idle and chec engine light comes on. this can be checked with and obd 1 code reader
1993 is OBD I and the connector is in the engine compartment above the transmission on the driver's side. I suggest using a code reader rather than trying to short wires.
No, the 1995 Dakota is obd 1. OBD-2 didn't start until '96 for most vehicles.
Yes, but us is OBD 1 and it is a different connector that is located under the hood.
DONT BUY 1 GO 2 KRAGEN THEY DO IT 4 FREE GOOD LUCK...........
call autozone, or any of you other local part stores, they should have a device to read the the code your check engine light is caused by.. I'm pretty sure that is an obd 1 which may be harder to find a reader for.... good luck :)
