Manufacturing Date
The manufacturing date is coded to the calendar year, which begins on January 1st and is completed on December 31st. It is interpreted as follows:
· The first letter of the code indicates the month in which the product was made.
· The number immediately following is the year in which the product was produced/packaged
· The next two digits are the day of the month the product was packaged on (01 - 31)
· The other letters and number(s) in the code represent plant and shift information identifying the location of production.
A code date which reads A429W is translated as follows:
"A" = January
"4" = 2004
"29" indicates the 29th day of the month
"W" indicates production at our West Chicago plant.
(Most of our products have a shelf life of at least 8-12 months.)
Our 12-month cycle is listed below.
A - JANUARY
B - FEBRUARY
C - MARCH
D - APRIL
E - MAY
F - JUNE
G - JULY
H - AUGUST
I - SEPTEMBER
J - OCTOBER
K - NOVEMBER
L - DECEMBER
As an experienced educator, I must emphasize that consuming any food product past its expiration date can pose health risks. The expiration date indicates the last date a product is guaranteed to be at its peak quality, including taste and safety. While Krusteaz lemon bars may still appear and smell fine after the expiration date, it is not recommended to consume them to avoid potential foodborne illnesses. It is always best to prioritize food safety and discard any expired products.
Of course you can. Cake mix has an expiration date, but it means nothing. I once used a cake mix 2.5 years after expiration, and it was still great.
The same as cake mix. Approx. 3-5 months.
No, the expiration date does not include that date.
The most recent studies say definitely not!
I don't know how to read the expiration date. Can you tell me what the code of WD7039 on the Gelatin box means.
