I don't believe you can recover a file from a USB drive if you don't have the USB drive.
I keep backups of the files.
You should be able to save any file onto a USB flash drive provided the drive is working and there is adequate space on the drive for the file.
If the pen drive is a standard USB drive then think about upgrading to a USB 2.0 drive, your computer must have a USB 2.0 port as well. USB 2.0 will transfer data much quicker than standard USB. Another option is to use a file compressing software to make the file smaller that you are transferring to the Pen drive. Smaller file, less to move. www.winzip.com

The way you can recover lost data on an USB is: start to delete the files, and than use a file recovering program. A lot of programs has recovery files
Well you could possibly right click the file and save as, then navigate to your usb drive and it should download there

Format the drive
In order to transfer a movie from a PC to a USB flash drive, you will need to attach the USB drive to your computer. Once you find the movie file on your PC, you will need to select the file and either paste or drag it to the USB drive.
Just connect the device on the USB port and right click on the file to be sent and select the usb location.
Files that are larger than the USB Capacity. Example: 2.3GB file on a 1GB Flash Drive cannot be copied/saved on the USB
If opened a file on your USB drive, if you saved by just clicking save or Crtl+S, it will still be on the USB drive. Some programs however have a temp folder, where it may store recently opened files. To find it, go to my computer-> search -> Type "temp [The program the file was opened in] ->Enter the search and you may find it there.
You need to create an autorun.ini file in the root of the USB drive (usually F:/, but the drive letter can be different from computer to computer).
