Vomiting is caused by Gastric Distention due to rescue breaths. The rescue breaths are either too hard or too much air. Vomiting can lead to aspiration which can cause infection and ultimately death if the patient lives through the cardiac event.

Most people vomit during CPR. It is just a fact. Prepare to roll victim onto left side and perform a finger sweep to clear vomitus from the airway if patient vomits.
