How do you refrech Windows 7?

First and formost, Win7 is an operating system and not some webpage or an application that can be refreshed. Webpage is no where near so leave it. Consider a winforms application. If it has a feature of refresh (some button or so), once the application hangs, you won't be able to refresh it either. You need to close it (probably use task manager to kill the process ) and then restart the application.

So, expecting a refresh in Win7 is waste. Generally OS hangs because of some application running in the bckground taking huge memory. Next time, instead of trying to restart, try to get task manager if you cam (Cntrl+Shift+Escape) -> try to kill the process that has hanged the system. If this works, ok...or else you have to restart.
