Well you really cant just make sure that your acid doesnt all dry out inside of a battery if it all doesn then battery wont hold charge and if you top it off after its already dry it will have weak charge because it have done it too late, make sure to top off battery acid fluid when it doesnt touch the dips in plastic covers. Batterys will go bad no matter what i have a f550 here in a shop and had to chage out 2 of them because they were over 6 years old and even though fluid is topped off it still doesnt hold charge.

Check all your fluid levels every 1st and 15th of a month. Best way to keep your car in good shape.

batteries need a combination of acid and distilled water, this mixture called electrolyte. You can purchase that mixed or do it yourself. Never fill up a battery with acid only and always put acid into the water that water into acid. You have to do it carefully, sulfuric acid is a dangerous material.

When you fill it up, make sure you follow instructions related to proper level and gravity of acid. Do not overfill it and after fillup, leave it open and do not use it immediately. After 2 hrs, you can start the charging process with a special charger that does not kill your battery (does it slow with proper ampers)

gases will have to evaporate before final close of the battery. check levels again and FILL UP MISSING liquid ONLY with distilled water and not acid or the mixture of them. Only with d. water. Good luck.
