Well, life is probably a little more complex than checkers, but I'm sure there are some ways to relate the two... it is possible to look at life as a struggle between two sides, red and black could represent good and evil, or man against nature, or even mand vs. himself.... The fact that you could end up playing either color speaks of the inherent war within each of us to try to balance our lives. Reaching the other side of the board and then being able to go backwards could relate to the way we have to learn in one direction for a long time, but when we know life a little better, we can direct ourselves. The fine line between being "king"ed and having your pieces removed from the board is everyday life... sometimes triumphant, sometimes tragic. But all part of a larger game, a larger event, which we all hope will turn out positive in the end.
... admittedly, the analogy doesn't stand up to intense scrutiny... but really, how many do? They are analogies, not life itself. :) ... but sure, checkers can relate to life. :)
