release the bar and pull. There is a small lever next to each back headrest. Pull the lever UP and the seat will release. Then pull the seat forward.
If you look between the seat cushion and the seat back you will find a strap allowing you to hinge the seat cushion forward, and there is a small knob on the seat back drivers side that needs to be pulled up.
Should be 1 bolt in each corner of seat
To remove the back seat of a 1998 Toyota Corolla, you will need to remove the carpet to expose the bolts for the seat. Then, loosen the bolts by removing the nuts. You can then remove the seat.

To remove the back seat cushion of a Toyota Echo (any year) simply grasp the seat between the cushion and body of the car and give it a good hard pull straight up. You will have to do this once on each side then again for the middle back of the cushion.
