How do you release hood on 1996 maxima I pull release in the car but does not release the hood the cable is not broken?

Try these: 1. after pulling the release handle, get out of car, walk to front bumper and make a fist, with bottom part of your hand hit the tip of the hood where the latch is, don't be afraid to hit it hard, if it opens then smile and spray the latch with wd-40 or something like that 2. hold the hood release lever and drive into a curb a few times, this will make the car's body flex and it may pop open 3. have someone help you. 1 person can pull up on hood (with screwdriver) and 1 person pulls the latch 4. Try and squrit spray oil on the latch under the hood , do not be afraid to use large large amounts. At the same as pulling on the latch have 2 people push down on the hood and let up , do this over and over.
