The heater core can be found behind the passenger side kick plate. Remove the water supply hoses from your 1996 Chevy Impala heater core. Remove the heater core retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
To change the heater core in a 1963 Chevy Impala, disconnect the negative battery cable and loosen the radiator cap. Remove glove box door and remove wiring connected to the heater core. Then remove the heater core from under the dash and replace with new.
Would depend on what year impala On a 63 impala or many of the early ones you need to remove the passener side fender. The remove the power wire from the blower motor. Then remove the heater hoses. then remove the heater box from the fire wall. the heater core is inside that box. Newer models I am not familiar with
Remove the center console remove the floor vent remove the heater core cover the heater core is right under the climate control unit remove the two screws that hold the heater core in place, open the hood and remove the heater hose from the heater core lines, now go inside and pull out the old heater core you don't have to remove the whole dash just the front of it

You can replace the sheer core, on your 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, by removing the water lines. Remove the four bolts that hold the heater core in place. Reverse the process to install the new heater core.
Your best bet is to get a Haynes Manual. They make one just for your car.
