if the eng. is in the vehicle, all accesories such as air cond. compressor ,alternator,will have to be removed.
removing the intake will make the job easier. remove the valve covers. loosen the rockers and turn them so you can pull the push rods.mark each push rod if you are going to reuse them .(put them back in same places)
there are 17,hex head bolts.in each head . 5/8 heads. the end bolts are different length. when all bolts are out, you may need to use a pry bar to separate the head from the block.
when you remove the bolts from the intake you will find they are different length.put the bolts back in the right places, if you use the longer bolts in the wrong holes they will bind the pushrods.
also on reinstalling the heads, it's a good idea to put sealant on bolt threads to stop coolant leaks.
careful if the heads are cast iron they weigh about 50 lbs.each
Remove the cylinder head from your 1992 Chevy 350 cubic inch engine. Remove the head gasket and clean the surface. Put the new head gasket on and reverse the process.
take out the cylinder head bolts
Remove the valve cover and you will see it stamped into the top of the head.
You'll need a valve spring compresser, compress the spring down, toward the head then remove the retainers and the valve should slip right out.
