One way of getting rid of this virus is to disable system restore and then start the computer up again and then do a virus scan and then you can enable the system restore and the virus should be gone.

To disable the system restore - go to start menu - settings - control panel - system - performance - file system - trouble shooting - disable system restore - you will be asked to shut down computer.

JUST DONE IT AND IT HAS WORKED FOR ME. GOOD LUCK

Are there any removal tools for BackDoor.small.8AC?

AVG will try to remove it but if it is in your systems restore you have to disable system restore before restarting your computer or it will just come back again. AdAware will also detect it. Backdoor.small.28 hides in C:\_Restore\Temp\A0030267.cpy. Using Windows ME Right Click My Computer then Properties\Performance\File System\Troubleshooting\then Click Disable System Restore. Restart computer and rescan by AV.

How do you remove PSW Agent N when running Windows ME?

This was my own question, but I found the answer when using someone else's suggestion for removing Stubby.B. When I ran AVG to see if Stubby.B had been removed, the results showed that PSW Agent.N was also gone. Probably because both were on CPY files. What I did was: Disk Clean up on Accessories More Options System Restore Clean up Troubleshooting - Disable System Restore, Then clicked OK. After that I restarted my PC. Next I went to Start, Settings, Control Panel, System Performance File System Troubleshooting - then I removed the check on Disable System Restore. I ckicked OK and restarted my computer. The AVG scan showed no viruses detected. I hope this works for others.

How do you remove Trojan horse downloader ramex c from your computer?

I had that virus too. I just downloaded AVE antivirus software for free. It seemed to take care of it. I was unaware I even had it so you are way ahead of me. It is in files A0845370.CPY and A0845452.CPY I searched for them but my computer would not let me delete them. Now they are gone I am very happy. Just search for AVE and go to their website it might be easier to download the program onto a Disc or a CD. I, to install it, managed and I am an idiot. I had 11 viruses I am so ashamed. Good Luck. How do you remove Trojans with CPY extensions?

Download and run firefox to protect your computer from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ).Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs1. Run Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)2. Run the vundo and combo fix3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware4. Run the anti spyware removal programs spybot5 Run Superantispyware6. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt!if they are in your "restore" file, you will have to remove same via MS-DOS, by going into DOS before windows starts up, then use your DOS commands, such as CD, del, etc. Or if you have recently completed a "restore to an earlier date" on your computer, once you know all of the virsus/trojans have been removed from your vital files, pick a new restore date, and reboot, they will be gone from your restore file.Go to Start /Control Panel /Folder Options (click the View tab)and uncheck both the *Hide file extension for known file types & *Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)-boxes, then OK yourself out. After unchecking the hidden files boxes delete the Temp file from the _Restore folder (as these keep putting the same files back into your system).I got Trojan Horse Dialer on my Windows ME system and had a horrible time deleting the temp files it put on my C drive. It kept replicating files and was using up the computer's resources! I read the answers on this sight last night, but nothing worked, I guess because most advice is written for XP. I played around a little bit this morning, using parts of everyones advice. This is what worked: Select START->SETTING->CONTROL PANEL->SYSTEM->PERFORMANCE->FILE SYSTEM->TROUBLESHOOTING. On the troubleshooting list check "Disable system restore" and APPLY. Your computer will ask if you want to restart--say YES! On reboot, your computer will dump all of the junk from the _Restore file (which is where Trojan Horse hides!)and you get rid of the unwanted Trojan temp files!!! Yeah! After your system reboots, check the C drive contents using Windows Explorer. _Restore\Temp should be empty. At this point, to be safe, I ran AVG AND emptied the Recycle Bin, then rebooted again. When you run AVG, watch for unusual file names. I noticed an empty "enhanced data" file in my regular temp file, and another file I had deleted just a few days ago reappeared. Deleted both of those and rebooted again, just in case that sneaky Trojan Horse was hiding! Once you're sure your files are clean, you can enable System Restore again. Good luck! Hopes this helps others. uccimomma. You can remove this Trojan trojans with CPY extensions by following these steps . 1 Download and intall the Malwarebytes on your computer .2 Update your Malwarebytes .3 Scan your computer for all the malwares in your computer .4 Remove all the malwares , found while scanning with the malwarebytes .5 Restart your computer .
