I ran Spy Sweeper. It detected the Downloader Rameh.E but said it would have to be removed manually. It then refered to a file with in my program files/common/updater/sui.exe.
I then updated my virus def to 7/19/04 on my AVG viruse detector. It found it it and healed it. I then ran my Spy Sweeper again, and the viruse was not detected the second time I ran it. I searched for the updater/sui.exe and up wasn't there.
Hope this helps. Gypsy

A Trojan Horse doesn't mess up your e-mail.
I was able to remove this with Security Task Manager - I just downloaded a trial to see what running processes I didn't recognize. AVG found the virus but didn't remove it (I didn't try AVG in safe mode.) I found this Trojan through AVG, which identified it. I reasoned that I had to stop the processing of the downloader, so I went to the task manager (ctrl-alt-del) to make the program stop. Then I went to the search function and located the program. Once I found the full location of the program, I opened up the folder and physically searched for the program. When I found the executable program, I removed it. I emptied the trash. I re-scanned the system and found that the Trojan was removed.
Trojan horses can carry viruses. Trojan horses disguise themselves to e something they are not. Trojans can be spread via email.

Phil, I recently had an experience with a similar virus. What I used to finally get rid of it, after trying alot of things, was a combination of a free anti-virus program called "AVG" and another free scanning program called "Ad-Aware". Download the programs to your computer. Then run them in safe mode if posible. Remove anything that they find wrong. If that doesn't fix your problem, E-mail me and I will give you some more indepth settings for the ad-aware program. Good luck! -Alan
