1. Download and run firefox to protect your computer from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ).Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs . 2. Found a reference worth looking into: bandofgonzos.com
I downloaded the free version of AVG anti virus and this scanned found and deleted the trojan. It resides in the comm.dll file. Hope this helps
Try using Trojan Remover from simplysup.com The Trojan Remover didn't find the Trojan on my PC but was the only program I found that would actually delete the file.
Either fine out where it is in your computer and manulay remove it or get a real antivirus such as nod32 or kaspersky.
I had the same problem and found out about a small program called CWShredder.exe that will remove it. I downloaded it and ran it and it stated that it removed it. Only time will tell if it worked. You can download it from: http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe
IVE just updated my avg antivirus software and run it. It found downloader.briss and removed it to the virus vault.
My AVG 7.0 anti virus was not able to remove it.But I have a free utility called Adware-6.0 which gets rid of spybots, etc and has removed numerous Trojan horses, dataminers, etc. I found the free download at the CNET.COM download website - good luck!
I would suggest downloading "Spybot Search and Destroy" (Freeware) and running it. If that does not work you may have to "restore" your harddrive with the factory restore disks. However doing this will completely wipe your harddrive causing a loss of all personal files. You can get riemove Trojan downloader from your computer , by following these steps . 1 Download and intall the Malwarebytes on your computer . 2 Update your Malwarebytes . 3 Scan your computer for all the malwares in your computer . 4 Remove all the malwares , found while scanning with the malwarebytes . 5 Restart your computer .
I found this downloader on my computer when I ran the new (beta) Microsoft spyware program. It found it, it got rid of it. Had no problem running it. NO problems with computer or other software. It can be found on the Microsoft site: microsoft.com
I found something called Spyware Doctor from www.pctools.com and it removes darksma instantly!
I found this Trojan with my AVG V7 and it could not heal or remove it. AVG did identify it as being embeded in the file "D:\Temp\Sentry.cab:\Sentry.exe"I can't save if this would be advisable for everyone to do but I deleted the "Sentry.cab" and it hasn't turned back up in the past few days nor does there seem to be any adverse affect on my PC from the deletion.
Run the free antivirus utility, AVG Anti-Virus System - Free Edition. Available at http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/
