It's difficult to give a good answer to this question. There are a lot of trojans with the name StartPage. They all have something in common ... they haijck your browser, making normal internet-browsing almost impossible. The file leimbag.dll is probably one of the trojan's files. A lot of the StartPage-trojans are recognized by Symantec. If you have a Symantec virusscanner, do a complete system-scan. If not, use the Symantec Online virusscanner to scan your system for virusses: security.symantec Good luck, Jahewi :-)
Disable system restore. Run AVG again. Reboot system and then renenable system restore. Google "How to disable system restore" for instructions.

use "CWShredder"...it'll take it out. You can get a free trial version.

I am a brazilian, so sorry for my bad english. I removed "starpage.5.av" with the avg atualized until 02/06/2004, but i had to remove the infected files from other computer, through the internal net. I hope it works. Best regards Daniel, from Brazil
I believe that if you hold the buttons 'd', 'i', and 'r' while the computer starts up, you can go into the directory system.
1. Run Deckard's System Scanner (DSS) 2. Run the vundo and combo fix 3. Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 4. Run the anti spyware removal programs spybot 5 Run Superantispyware 6. Run a complete scan with free curing utility Dr.Web CureIt! Go to www.download.com and run a search of downloads for CWShredder. It's a small program (700K) and it will hammer this Trojan right out of existence.
A system I have been working with that has AVG Anti Virus installed showed this Trojan as Quarantined. Perhaps this might help you?

Try scanning your system using AVG antivirus. Or else try a system restore.
