You have to:
Remove the door panel
If it's the outer handle you would need to remove the door panel, then remove the rivits that hold the handle to the outside of the car. Then remove the window track and slide it down inside of the door and unhook the rod on the handle,and now you can slide the door handle out.
Disconnect positive battery cable, remove all the bolts and screws from the door panel, disconnect the electrical plugs and carefully remove the panel. Remove the two nuts that hold the handle on, remove the linkage and reverse procedure to install.
You have to remove the inside door panel to get access to the door handle nuts.
remove plastic covers on the ends of the handle...under those there are 2 bolts...remove them...i think they are 10mm...then remove the cover behind the door latch(used to open door)...inside, beside the latch...there is another 10mm bolt. remove it. pry out the window control switch from the front. pull it out. unplug the switch from the wiring harness. grab the handle of the door, then pull upward.
you need to remove the inside door panel to get access to the inside, remove the clips holding the door handle assembly and the whole thing comes off
Remove the inside door panel of your 1987 Chevy. Remove the linkage from the door handle. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. The door handle will come off.
Remove the inside door panel. Remove the door handle linkage. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. The front door handle will come off.
The 1998 Ford Ranger door panel has eight retaining clips. Pry outward on each retaining clip. Remove the two door handle screws.
there are screws in the door, and holding the handle on. You can get to the ones holding on the handle by pulling off the covers on each side of the door handle inside.
Remove the door trim panel. Remove the inside door handle rod. Remove the inside door handle retaining rivets. Remove the inside door handle from the door by sliding the handle rearward.
you have to remove the inside door panel to get to the nuts on the back of the handle housing. then you have to undo the door latch actuator rod from the handle (it's little yellow colored plastic snap lock at the end of the rod).
