Remove the trim panel and there are screws that hold the mirror on inside the door. Go to this website. It will show how to remove the door panel and the mirror assembly. Only go to step 12. The rest is for installing their mirror. Do the reverse when reinstalling. kwmuth.com

You will need to remove the door panel from your 2001 Honda Civic. Remove the site view mirror wiring harness. Remove the side view mirror retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new side view mirror.

Remove the wiring harness from the back of the headlight. Remove the headlight assembly bolts. The headlight assembly will come out.
