When you open the toolbox on back of the seat, there are two bolts inside. Remove the and the seat lifts right off.
Remove the dashboard cover. Remove the retaining ring, from the speedometer. Remove the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer.
It's under the left side cover. Take the seat off and remove one screw and then the side cover pulls right off.
i suggest you get hold of a workshop repair manual as this job requires taking the engine out - not a job for a beginner! Unfortunately this is necessary because with the engine in place the frame clearance is inadequate to allow you to remove the stator cover and kickshift pedal - bloody stupid design issue
