Hmmm... That is strange. I have a five speed, v6 95 Mazda B4000, and it does not hesitate at all in the damp. The only time it ever hesitates is when I am hauling something up a hill at a high speed. Perhaps your issue is related to the automatic transmission in them?

Iti's mounted to the transmission. You will need to go under the car and look for it. Hope this will help.
No, the B4000 is a rebadged Ford Ranger.
The starter is on the driver side of the transmission/flywheel connection, located on the bottom of the truck. You have to jack the truck up and get underneath it on the driver side to access it. It has 2 bolts attaching it to the transmission casing. You'll have to remove a large battery cable from the selinoid, as well as a smaller power clip cable, before it will drop out and down.
There is 6 or 8 bolts on the bottom side of the bed take those off and remove gas neck and it should come right off.
I called any dealership parts department and not only will they provide a picture they also provide instructions...
This only needs to be done if the starter is faulty - there is no time in the car's servicing needs that this is a scheduled procedure.
