To remove the transmission from a Mazda B4000, first ensure the vehicle is securely lifted and supported. Disconnect the battery, then remove the driveshaft, exhaust components, and any electrical connections to the transmission. Next, unbolt the transmission from the engine and the crossmember, and carefully lower it using a transmission jack. Ensure you have a clear workspace and follow safety precautions throughout the process.

Hmmm... That is strange. I have a five speed, v6 95 Mazda B4000, and it does not hesitate at all in the damp. The only time it ever hesitates is when I am hauling something up a hill at a high speed. Perhaps your issue is related to the automatic transmission in them?

The starter is on the driver side of the transmission/flywheel connection, located on the bottom of the truck. You have to jack the truck up and get underneath it on the driver side to access it. It has 2 bolts attaching it to the transmission casing. You'll have to remove a large battery cable from the selinoid, as well as a smaller power clip cable, before it will drop out and down.
