Use a putty knife (I found a firm 3" putty knife worked well) and gently tap it between the frame and mirror to break adhesive seal. It's time consuming but continue gently tapping the putty knife through the adhesive all the way along the frame. Be sure to wear gloves, sleeves, and safety glasses as the frame can flex and break as the adhesive frees. When the frame is removed use a scraping razor and goo gone to remove the remainder of the finish. If the mirror is glued to the wall, it does not need to be removed to proceed with removing the beveled frame.

How do you change the wing mirror indicator lens on a Mercedes sprinter van?

I had to do this on my 315cdi. First you will need a T-20 Torx Wrench. To access these Torx screw (x4) you need to remove the large mirror by pushing one corner in & carefully pulling with even pressure to the opposite side. The mirror should pop out quite easily, there are two heater wires attached. I removed them & put the mirror in a safe place. Next remove the smaller lower mirror by pushing it in at the farthest side from the door & sliding the mirror itself towards the door to remove, I also but it in a safe place. Undo the 4 Torx screws, you can now remove both halves of the mirror housing & of course the indicator lens. You must unclip the bulb socket to separate form the assembly & then twist the bulb assembly anti-clockwise to remove the bulb. Reassembly is the opposite to the above, but when replacing the large mirror locate two of the four clips with the mirror placed forward at the top nearest the door then when the two clips feel secure carefully & with a little even pressure rotate the mirror down to the far bottom corner & the mirror should pop back into place. Done!

How do you replace the passenger side mirror on a 1992 Honda Accord sedan?

Use a heat gun to heat the glass and plastic moulding. When the plastic softens, pry back the short side a bit then slide a piece of fishing line under the mirror and pull it towards the other side, this will cut through the adhesive. Look behind the backing pad to locate the cover screws, drill holes in the pad to access the screws. Remove the screws and the front cover then use a screwdriver to pry the pad from the balljoint. If you're replacing the pad and mirror as a unit you should be able to install the small balljoint and metal rod allowing you to move the mirror around to replace the cover and screws then push the mirror and pad onto the large center balljoint. Holy cow - what is that guy talking about?!?!?!? Mine was broken and I replaced it a couple of months ago. Here is what I did: 1) There is a small plastic cover on the inside of the passenger door up at the front corner of the window. Remove this cover (it is held in place by clips). 2) Once you remove the cover, you will see the wires for the electric mirror and three screws that hold the mirror onto the door frame. Unhook the wires and then remove the three screws. At this point you should be able to remove the entire mirror assembly from the door frame (it might be stuck on there a little, just wiggle it free). 3) Once you have the mirror off, you will have access to a couple of screws from the bottom side of the mirror. I don't remember exactly if one of these screws that held the mirror in place or else you might need to push in on the top of the mirror itself so that you can look up through the gap and see back behind it. There might be a screw up in there that you need to remove. I do remember it took some patience to get the screw back in once I had replace the mirror. I would highly recommend purchasing a Chilton's repair manual - it helps out a lot.

Where is the ecu located in a 92' Volvo 940?

Undo the large panel under the steering wheel (2 screws)and the ECU is a Black box about 6" long 4"wide and 1inch thick It's a bit more involved than that. Disconnect the battery. If you don't do this at least remove the key from the ignition to disarm the airbag. Remove the Knee bolster under the driver's side dashboard (three screws) and the panel that is directly behind it (two plastic bin screws). With a flash light look up between the brake pedal and the gas pedal. The ECU is a black plastic box with the long side mounted upright and a large plug that is as width as the ECU. The ECU is held in place with a metal frame. To remove the ECU you remove it WITH the metal frame. Remove the single hex screw at about the midpoint of the metal frame and this will allow you to slide the ECU frame off.

How do you replace side mirrors?

On the inside of the door, directly in back of the mirror, there is a triangular piece of plastic trim. This trim prys off and exposes a fairly large hex nut. Use a socket wrench and remove the nut to release the mirror housing. Oh, by the way, you will be purchasing the entire mirror housing. In the case of electric mirror controls, you will also need to disconnect the wiring. This is a simple plug in.
