Thinking of removing the black gloss finish on my tokai love rock guitar and keeping it as a satin wood finish (just use some oils etc). Is there an easy/cheap way to do this?
Get a clean rag, and some Martin guitar polish, spray the polish on the spot and buff the spot out with the rag.

French polish Is the best and hardest finish to use on your guitar. The guitar industry has moved away from it because is not green friendly, The water- base lacquer is green but, it is not very strong, and you have to refinish your guitar more often. Hope this helps.

paint thinner or a whole lot of sanding when re-painting the guitar and its perfect make sure to use wood finish like polyurethane. Read the warning labels on it as well. lots of videos on youtube to help with it
They are identical with the only exception being the finish. The FG700MS has a matte/satin finish, while the FG700S has a gloss finish.
