You need to first depressurize the gas in the lines. In the engine compartment, near the intake manifold (rear) there is a cap that screws on and looks like the cap for a bike inner tube. Hook up a fuel pressure guage to it and use that to depressurize the line. If you don't have one, place a lot of shop towels around it, and be sure no sparks and anything are near you. Use something that wont cause a spark and depress the nipple until no gas comes out. remember to recap the test line. Under the car driver side in the rear, you can easily disconnect the fuel filter. Be sure to un screw your gas cap to relieave any pressure in the tank. Squeeze the plastic quick connects and unscrew the filter. Note that fuel will still come from the residual volume so be prepared. The tank wont empty because the fuel pump isn't on. I would also recommend that you purchase a haynes manual at a local auto parts store where it provides you with pictures and detailed step by step instructions on basically everything on your car. Its based on a complete break down/ tear down and rebuilt of everything. You can pick one up for about 20 bucks. Hope this helps!
