under the gas tank
How to remove gas tank on a 950cc 2011 yamaha
yes i do like chocolate milk
It's easy to take the tank off this model bike. Remove the seat, then you will see the two bolts that hold the rear of the tank. Turn the gas tank selector valve to "off" then remove the fuel line. When you start to lift the tank off the two front rubber tank locators you will see the wire bundle that comes back to the under-seat area from the speedometer. Disconnect it at the plug and the tank will lift off easily.
The 2009 Yamaha ttr 125 has a 1.6 gallon fuel tank.
remove gas tank very easy three bolts for tank and 4 Allen screws for carbs
There are two 10mm bolts- one for each haft just above the horn. The two hafts have a snap on top that holds them to-gather. take out the two bolts holding them on in the front. Pull them off slow then they come apart on the top. It will be easier if you slide the tank back (or remove it completely)
Use fishing line to remove and then goo-be-gone for the residue.

There are actually three - two for the engine and one for the oil tank.
It is under the seat toward the front of the seat and rear of the tank. Remove the drivers seat to get to the battery. It maybe be necessary to loosen th tank in several spots to lift the tank slightly. On the Yamaha r1 2004-2008 you have to lift the tank as well to get it out. Good luck!
