Having serious trouble removing the propeller from our boat? Does this require a special tool? If so, where do we find one? This is our first boat , and we have no experience at replacing parts. It's been running great but we've been told it needs new seals. Can someone advise us please. We want to float this boat! Thanks!

If you will go to Crowley Marine you can look up just about any old outboard motor. There is a diagram there for the 1971 25 hp Evinrude and if you will look there is a plate on the right side looking at the motor from the propeller end just below where the gearcase extension bolts on. It has several small holes in it and this is the water intake. On the Crowley gearcase drawing it is part #19.
1971 couger has it fuse box under the dash on the drivers side and the are glass fuse you can remove them with a small pair of pliers but be careful the fuse does break and get glass in your face
The gas to oil ratio is 50 to 1 50: 1 I have the same motor, good luck
