You will need a special tool for this. It is a 2 PC tool-one tool fits over 2 of the bolts on pulley & other tool (looks like an open end wrench) fits over the large nut. Hold tool over the 2 bolts while you loosen the large nut. advice- leave belt on til you get all bolts loosen makes job a liittle easier tool can be rented at most auto parts stores
Does anyone know how to take off a radiator fan clutch from a 1998 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6
Should be at the bottom or rear of radiator or remove lower radiator hose
we had the same problem in our 99 dodge dakota, unbole the radiator from the frame, then unmount the trans cooler from the radiator then carefully bend the transcooler lines away from the passenger side of the radiator then is the hoses are disconected it shuld come right out. i hope i helped you
Remove the top and bottom radiator hoses including the transmission fluid, then remove the side mounting bolts, after that is completed, slide the radiator up and out of the engine compartment
Remove the plastic cover underneath the radiator(passenger side) to access the radiator drain and you will need a large screwdriver.
you dont
Clutch switches are usually located at the top of the clutch pedal.
YesYes
It is not adjustable.
you have to remove the fan this takes a specail tool then you will drain the radiator with the plug that's on the bottom corner of the radiator next disconnect the upper and lower hoses it should come out
on the bottom left corner of the front of the engine there is a hose coming from the radiator. AFTER DRAINING THE RADIATOR take the hose loose on the engine side, then remove the bolts the are around the place you just took the hose from. Inside there is the thermostat.
