No. The speed sensor is located on the transmission, and is what drives the speedometer cable, which drives the speedo head. The speedo head is another name for the the speedometer, which is the display gauge that you see while sitting in the car.
This is most likely the cable that runs from the speedo to the odo. As it ages, the lubricany dries up and the cable drags and sometimes starts to kink. You can replace this cable by removing the speedo cable from the head and the mount on the transmission (w/ the speed sensor)(mounted on the passenger side of the car right above the halfshaft). Remove the speed sensor and pull the cable out from the trans end. The new cable will be fed from the trans end back up to the speedo. Reattach the speed sensor and mount onto the trans. Install the cable back on the head and you shoudl good to go.
Replace the speedo head assembly. It is a sealed unit, with no servicable parts. If the speedometer is working, then the cable and the speedo drive gears are working. The failure must be inside of the speedo head assembly itself.
You have to remove the front bumper to change the head lamp , i did it one time on my Mazda 6 2003 . Regards Abdullah al brahim from K.S.A
Remove the head light cover plate, then remove head light braket, once you have done that pull the light out and un-plug it.
The timing light reset if i remember is behind the speedo. Remove the speedo head and clocks and look on the back. There should be a little jumper in some terminals and next to it there should be some empty terminals. Just remove jumper from one and put into other, this should reset timing belt light.
