It's just behind the steering wheel above the steering column, its a small black unit roughly the size of a pack of cigarettes and just clips in, you only need to remove the cowl to remove it although if you need to replace the sensor ring you have to remove the steering wheel, and clock spring.
This process is for 2006-2009 models. First disconnect the battery. Squeeze the two side holes of the steering wheel with two straight screwdrivers to remove the airbag. Then note where the plugs go to. Finally you will see a screw in the center of the steering wheel. Mark the point where the screw locks and remove it using a tork key (T50). Refitting is a reversal of removal.

Could be that the steering wheel rubber bushing is worn or lose. This bushing is located in the engine compartment, between the end of the steering wheel coulomb and the steering wheel likage...Tom

Remove the tire and wheel from your 2004 Mercedes 240. Remove the end of the axle. Remove the wheel bearing nut. Remove the wheel bearing seal and the wheel bearing.
