I am not sure I understand what you are asking? If you already have antivirus software on your system, it should have detected and at least quarantined the virus. Even if the software cant update, most good antivirus programs contain enough signatures to find most viruses without updating frequently. Here are a few things you can try:
1. boot your computer in safe mode and run a virus scan from there.
2. If you created a rescue cd from your antivirus program, try using it to run a scan.
3. download the microsoft malicious software removal tool and try that.
