how do I remove my air bag from my mercury sable
check your fuse for the air-bag it could be blowen it happen to me, made my light to the air-bag stay on. take it to a dealer and have it scaned for a code.
Disconnect the car battery ... without an electrical impulse from any number of sensors, the air bag is rather unlikely to expand on its own.
First pull the fuse to the air bags then remove the rubber cover on the stearing wheel. You will then see 4 to 6 bolts to remove the air bag and the air bag mounting bracket. After removing the bolts you will then need to unclip the air bag connector and then you will be able to remove the airbag. Then you will see a nut on the stearing will shaft, remove it and then you will need a wheel-puller to remove the stearing wheel due to the fact that it is pressed on.
