When removing the alternator you have to first remove the radiator. Disconnect all hoses leading to the radiator. After disconnecting the alternator and in order to get it out of the engine area, bring it through the area from where you removed the radiator. After installing the new alternator, set the radiator in place and attach all hoses and wires.
it took me about 3 hours
If you just remove A/C compressor (4 bolts), loosen tensioner, and remove belt. Disconnect wires. A/C compressor pulls to the side. Remove front bolt on alt. Loosen rear bolt on alt. Tap or pry alt towards front of car. Alt will come right out of bottom of car. You will need to remove dust shield. Took me 25 mins to change it
You don't need to remove the bolt. The mounting bracket is slotted so that you only need to withdraw the bolt a small way and then pull the alternator and the bolt will come out through the slot.
Change your alternator
Hi there , I have just changed the pressure sensor switch on my MX6 , it is located fairly centrally on the engine facing the radiator. There is a small wire that is routed across the alternator so it can be found by tracing that .I had to change the alternator and broke this by accident , you might have to remove the alternator to get to it first depending on the size of your hands and arms ,Mazda has the replacement parts and can be bought for a few pounds .Hope its helpful !!
plenty of things could be a starter, alternator, ignition switch, bad spark...
well , there is no such thing as a mazda RX6 . im guessing you mean MX6 . totally different
Take it to a mechanic.... use a 12 mm extended ratchet to loosen the accessory belt tensioner (remove belt) Unbolt the alternator from the engine chassis and unplug the positive and negative terminals. New Alternator Costs about $200, New Starter Costs the Same.
mx6 got no moonroof - only a sunroof and YES its interchangeable
Remove passenger side Rack and pinion arm and slide out Alternator .
Remove the positive cable from the battery post. Remove the cables from the alternator. Remove the alternator wiring harness. Remove the belt by loosening the tensioner pulley. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.

To change the alternator belt on a Mazda 323, first remove the right hand air shield under the can. Then locate the pulley tensioner of the AC and loosen the bolts on the pulley. Finally, remove the alternator pivot bolt under the alternator to remove the old alternator belt and replace with a new one.
After you remove the alternator from the engine, you can take it out from lower side of the engine. There are two ways you can get take it out. One way is to remove the CV joint and take the alternator out. The other way is to remove the exhaust pipe under the engine and remove the alternator. I used the second way because I could not remove the CV joint in my case. The bolt stuck and I could not get it off.
