i thought the inside door panels snap on so unsnap them. The panel does snap on and off...carefully so as to not break the fasteners. The figure-8 motor drive mechanism can be tricky to get out of the door. With some thoughtfull persistance you can get it out and put the new one in by reversing the procedure.
