You can replace it, but you cannot remove it permanently. The neutral safety switch is a part of the Camry safety system. If you manage to remove it next time when you are passing the state inspection you very high chances to fail it.

However, if your state does not have an inspection for licensing and such, you can connect a wire from a push button to the starter and battery. Then you just have to turn the car on with the key and push the button to start it. This is a cheap fix. But be careful because someone can crack the ignition and get the car to engage in the on position and the car will start by pushing the button. So my advice is if you do this always lock your doors!!
